2019 Arkansas River flood has made the records books for the highest river levels ever. By Wednesday the River is expected to crest at 42′. The Army Corp of Engineers has been releasing at full capacity since the rains started. Flooding is rampant along the bordering river towns.
Below are some photos I took standing on Riverside walking trails in Tulsa, that are today gone due to errosion from the rushing waters.
I thought it would be better to get a closer look riding a scooter, so I did. I left after seeing the mighty Arkansas River overtake a playground area.
On my way home I stopped by the Verdigris River, which feeds into the Arkansas River, this river is by my home and I’m thankful I’m living on high ground.
The scariest part for me is that my mom and sister live in Arkansas in Van Buren. The city is surrounded by water. Fortunately they both live on higher ground like me. 🙏🏼💜

Oh gosh yes they have evacuated Coffeyville the Verdigris River is causing a lot of trouble.

The river is rising because of rain in Kansas and Oklahoma. Flash flood warnings are going now because of the rain that is falling now. Crazy how water can be so destructive 😦

That’s a lot of water. Did you leave the scooter or ride it back? They are just now putting scooters out in Albuquerque. They were pretty pesky in Paris where people left them on the sidewalks, or threw them in the Seine.

I left it. They have an app I use called LIME, so you scan the barcode with you iPhone and then take a photo of where you left it. I’m sure that company was picking scooters up like crazy. I left it on the trail underneath a tree which is further away from the water. I really love riding those scooters 🛴

Oh yes and also stories about injuries. I didn’t know this but Alex hurt her shoulder riding one. Like it needed more injury. I was careful to go slow. 😛

No ports in Tulsa the next week or two from the sounds of it. We have seen pictures of port 33 and all I can say is holy cow
