All to often
I have come to know
no matter where you go
in life there will be sadness
there will be pain
there will be times
of utter despair
I simply express it and go on
I never get stuck, though I revisit
I have learned nothing gained
in the wallowing, gnashing of teeth
and beating upon oneself
I have learned
to be my own best friend
I have learned
where my joy comes from
I have seen
what a kind word can do
So in my sadness
I offer joy though
none avails me now
but come tomorrow
the sun will shine
the storms will go
and I will say
Thank you God I made it
Me and My best friend Me!

Well said my friend…to be your best friend and yes, a kind word to someone can make such a difference in their day and life. xx

I love to vege but you are right it feels like too much time to be in our heads. Plan short outings…photographing the trains coming in…sunrise for a change…there’s a nice challenge…I must do that…I just love the sunrise…I see it when I go to bed too often…haha but miss it by the water where I grew up.
