When you fall and can’t get up

 ica
I’ve lived most of my life healthy, strong and I’m more on the athletic side then I am sedentary. Last Tuesday morning BB called and said mom I can’t walk. So I drove over there my way to work when in and I said what do you mean you can’t walk I said her walker up on the walker tried to get up and fell in the floor. Well my mom reaction was to get her up so I wrapped my arms around her to lifted her, at least that was my intention and we both heard a loud pop, my back, we both fell in he floor. BB was hysterical she called 911 and said help I broke my mom. The fire department got there and asked who fell and BB told what happened.

I was in shock because we just got a diagnoses from the Mayo of sarcoidosis and I was still shocked from that, but it turns out that her not being able to walk is from this disease, along with the blindness in her right eye, the non stop kidney infections, the pneumonia. I could go on and on.

So I broke my L3 vertebrae, painful is not the word for it. I think I’ve been in a state of shock over all that’s gone on with BB and now this. This broken L3 stopped me literally. I told the doctor I don’t have time for a broken back he said well if you want to heal you need to lay flat for a week. Wow! So shocking to me.  My entire life stopped. Just lifting my head is an accomplishment today. Yay! I don’t even know what to say I think I just wanted to share this today. That’s all . 😳🙃

      1. It is but o know there is something deeper to get from it all so I’m surrendered to it all! 😜😂😄my girl is coming to sit/lay/watch movies with me tomorrow. She’s been in physical therapy to get her mobility back. She’s excited and so am I. She’s had to have someone else take care of her and it’s hard on me. But nothing I can do but heal and wait. 🙃

      2. Time is the great healer. Hopefully it won’t be long. My mother in law broke her vertebrate many years ago, she did great with no long lasting effects . Get well!!!

  4. I hope this makes you laugh, but the title of your post made think of the life alert commercial 😂 I’ve been down for the last week too, but from a cold or something. But rest is good, needed. So soak it up like the sun you love so much! ❤️ God is wrapping you under his wing.

  5. so sorry, I recall Dad laying on a door on the floor of the front room for six weeks. Dad was a jockey and had more than his share of injuries over the years, but this time he just twisted and POP!… literally. May all your future pops be sweet and come in jewel colours and fruit flavours. May your recovery be swift and your life get easier. Take care

      1. Oh I got it. I like flavored pop too. It made me smile thinking about them. There’s a place on Route 66 called Pops. Have you heard of it all flavor a of pops in glass bottles. I saw a little mini shop like it in the Chicago airport

      2. No, I look and stare but I can’t see route 66 from here, so I googled and now I can. This internet thing is so clever. Here am I able to visulise where you are talking about so easily with the aid of google earth. I am pleased to peep into your place and cheer you up, why don’t you google Lyme Regis England … then you can see my nearest beach a place Where my worries can go if only for a short while. You can walk on the Cobb virtually and maybe it will help steady you as the Cobb steadies me. Sharing can’t be bad across the seas. X
