Like I was 4
and geese were my friends
we went swimming
I caught tadpoles
I love how they wiggle
I spent hours watching
the butterflies
I was never bored
Like I was 4

I stifle the roar
I must let go
Lulled into safety
then delivered a blow
I did not see it coming
I was unaware
That evils lie within
Unbeknownst without a care
Though cloaked in kindly words
Like a lamb to the slaughter
I scarce can stand to tell it
the words I cannot utter
though I want to roar
I cry
though I want to scratch
I sigh
though I want to pounce
I sit
see this once roaring Lioness
has been tamed
tears fall down my mane
instead of anger only pain
