I was reborn on a Tuesday
I know that is when it was
My life up until that point
Was drifting just because
I did not have a purpose
At least to me, if was not clear
I struggled with existence
to me nothing was too dear
Then came you on a Tuesday
June the twenty-ninth
I remember it so tenderly
It was then I found my life
As I held you and counted fingers
I unwrapped to find your toes
I marveled at your sweet face
With mine I touched your nose
I breathed you in so deeply
into my every cell
I smile at just the thought now
that fresh new baby smell

June twenty ninth, nineteen-ninety-three
It was a Tuesday
I was reborn on a Tuesday

  4. beautiful – I was reborn – 1-23-1995 and if that was not enough, I was re-born again on 10-26-97. isn’t is funny how we feel this way when they are born and then….. somewhere along the line we feel they will be the death of us and then….all is well! Oh how i remember those days – but now it is all about the re-born.

    1. It was a sunny day, the room was dark, after he was born we both had coffee and toast. And I went to sleep a couple of hours later. The kids mother was asleep all night having had pethidine and sleeping tablets. I lay down to sleep the night before in the foyer at about 11:30,pm, and then a midwife come and got me a little after 12. I went with her into the birthing room, and she went to sleep. She wanted me to rub her back for her, and every time fell asleep she told me to carry on. At about 4am I went out for a cigarette anyway, then I didn’t have another cigarette until gone 10am. I remember what he looked like coming into the world, and I also remember the looks on everybody’s faces when I said “My God, he looks like Yoda!” haha. I remember the Friday night two years and three weeks later as well when my daughter came into the world 🙂

      1. I did, here 😉 I was on the bus with my daughter once and I pointed to a window and told her that was the room she was born in at 10:40 pm.

      2. It did surprise her to find out that I knew the room she was born in. I was impressed that her mum had no pain relief whilst she was having her.
