It’s in the valley that I grow

Art by MichelleMarie

itsinthevalley
I met him in the valley
I met the shadow of death
I really didn’t care much
for me was nothing left

I’d all but lost my mind
I really didn’t care
I met him in the valley
He seemed to keep me there

The face it seemed familiar
But sometimes it would change
It really did not matter
I know this might sound strange

I did not realize how deep I had gone
Till I realized there was no light
He removed his mask in comfort
It was then I felt the fright

I danced with the darkness
he gave me a new name
my name is HAD

  1. This poem gave me shivers when you read it to me last night and again as I read it here on your blog. The good shivers. To me, it describes the exact slide I make into the valley of depression and I just love how Pink is a ladder I have been using to climb out of the blackness these last few months…Pink does heal and we are the proof. Love you, thank you.
