Some say you can never go home, and for me that has always been true! However, today I did! My niece Rachel has sick and was in the hospital for 21 days with spinal meningitis, shingles and now juvenile diabetes! I couldn’t wait to hug her! She’s only one year older then my Alex and I can’t stand the thought of my loved ones suffering and I couldn’t be there because I’ve been too sick to travel.
I ran, I did I had to hold myself back so I wouldn’t tackle her and her Momma.
We hugged and cried and hugged and cried and it was the best feeling to touch her and see her with my own two eyes. Her momma is one of my best friends and I have missed her but I didn’t realize how much!
You see even though I didn’t go to my childhood home, I saw my sweet niece and her momma and I realized their hearts are home to me! Tonight I thank God for his grace for my family and for my friends!

Oh – your poor niece.
So glad that she is feeling better now though – at least well enough to go back home.
Tell her to hang in there with the diabetes. With good guidance – she will be able to control her sugars well.
{Hugs} to you all
