I was sitting here talking to you and I noticed the sky…
as the sky said goodnight I walked outside to answer

THE RED CARPET OF HOPE~Inspiration from my Uncle
I walk the red carpet of hope,
I take it with me wherever I go.
It’s not that I don’t have the faith you see,
But hope is just the weakest in me.
I’ve had this carpet for a very long time,
For it helps me through the rough to tow the line.
It has taken me through peaks and valleys did you know,
For I find it is always in the valleys that I grow.
There are days filled with troubles and strife,
Impossible journeys throughout this life.
I have learned to take the best possible paths there can be,
And just a little help from my carpet of hope and me.
And though my carpet is old, faded, and wearing thin,
It has helped me grow in leaps and bounds, courage from within.
Now I walk with God, who’s courage and faith has filled me so,
But I will forever cherish the days, I walked the red carpet of hope.

BB asked, “Mom what are we LENTing?”
BB asked, “Mom what are we LENTing?”
As you may know Ash Wednesday was this week and BB said she felt left out because all the doctors and other nurses were LENTing and she wanted to LENT too! After I stopped laughing at her and explained it was not called LENTing she insisted that indeed it IS LENTing and she wanted to.
“I know,” she said….”I will LENT no more saying mean things.” I told her I thought that was a great idea. It lasted 2 minutes till someone pulled out in front of us and BB said, “BattleAx get the bleep off the road and learn how to drive!!!! She immediately decided this would be too hard for her given her issues with road rage. Next she decided bad words/cussing would be her LENTing fast for 40 days.
BB is more like my Pa and he never cared who was around when he blurted out his colorful thoughts!
Today is Friday so far BB has donated $20.00 to the bad word cup! Each bad word is .25₵!!!
Everyone loves LENTing with her and it’s never been so much fun to give up something for 40 days since BB sees everything in a different light! All the offerings are going to the missions fund.
Nobody makes me laugh like BB
Gentle on my mind
It was as if I had known you for a million years, my mind had already visited you in my dreams so many nights and yet tonight as I entered your room you were already fast asleep. I watched as the light danced across your chest and caressed your chin and I was taken by the sound of your steady breathing so I moved closer to watch you sleep.
Your face so peaceful, I studied as it told me a thousand stories. I wondered what made you choose to never smile. I hoped that you would one day reveal to me the secrets you keep hidden deep within.
It was hard to believe I was here with you and yet you were not aware of my presence. I wanted to shower you with kisses yet something about this side of you intrigued me so I leaned in to get a closer look. I watched as you breathed in deeply and part of you must have been aware of a presence because you stirred in your sleep and smiled, at least I thought it was a smile. I lifted the covers and slide quietly beside you and you stirred again so I held my breath till your breathing became steady again. I moved closer so I could feel your body against mine. My hands traced the lengths of your thighs and up to your chest and you drew in a deep breath and I could tell you were awake. Slowly I moved over you to hug you, I knew you were awake because you hugged me and smile I hadn’t realized but you were watching me and that made me smile and you said hi and pulled me close and kissed me and it was just like I had dreamed all those nights but this time it was real……
