Buttercup roses like frosting to my heart
I get all sweet and dreamy
when you gifted me this creamy
fluffy yellow rose, was it merely in jest?
I don’t know but part of me pattered
and my thoughts they seem all scattered
if perhaps, you might just put me to the test
Seems my smile it is all cheesy
and my breath it’s kind of wheezy
makes me wonder have a caught a cold or cough
Either way it’s such a nice thought
and my Pa a proper man taught
me to thank you very kindly for the gift

If truth be told
I’d have to say
I prefer a stormy cloudy day
Because the Oklahoma sun
Burns so hot you feel like toast
Most folks when they feel sprinkle
Run for cover but my eyes twinkle
I so love a soaking Summer rain

Chasing Rabbits on a Monday

It’s Monday morning
a perfect time to chase rabbits
I think I can sneak up on them
if I can find one
I can’t go in the tall grass
cause there’s ticks
and fleas and spiders
so mom let’s be run the line
you see what I am after
I love chasing rabbits can’t you see
it’s in my blood please let me be
I know it’s here I can smell it

Frog Umbrella or Mushroom?

I just mowed and this came up overnight.
It doesn’t look like a mushroom but it’s on the side of the yard where it could be.
I’ve decided I think it’s an umbrella for my frog friends! Happy Monday!
