I can see where you’re coming from with the ice-cream but I think it’s hard not to be melancholy if you’re predisposed to it. (That was just an excuse to use a good word. I write best when I’m melancholy)

That was good, but I think you would need to be more accepting of it to be melancholy whereas that reads underlying strong to me.
