The building opened in May 1985 as the State of Illinois Center. It was renamed in 1993 to honor former Illinois Republican Governor James R. Thompson. This building takes up an entire city block in downtown Chicago. Bling and I loved the elevator and all the windows and the architecture.

This was Bling’s idea to take photos of the other buildings through the glass. I thought that was really cool! Bling is a great tour guide and she sure loves her city of Chicago! It’s her kind of town! 😉
