It happens to all of us at times, Michelle-Marie. When it does, let it go and the next time something like that comes along, take a bit longer to arrange our thoughts before we speak. The bible tells us “…be slow to speak and slow to anger…: (James 1:19).
I believe this not only means we should “take the high road,” but when we find it necessary to say something, take the time to arrange our thoughts so that what we say means something and is effectively presented.
